[...] This is the ride the team and the fans signed up for when Favre joined the Vikings a couple weeks before the 2009 season. And when he showed up he took the team and the fans on a helluva ride, finishing just a few yards and a couple minutes shy of the Super Bowl. [...]

My gut feeling is the Vikings have a better percentage chance of having a better team record and making the Playoffs with Favre but will have less sucess once they get there with him because of some of the points Andy made. I really would of liked to of seen the Vikings QB situation play out. Sage made some bonehead too much effort inexperienced plays with the Texans but I also saw moxey and QB skills too in leading an average team to wins. Someone should give him a solid chance.

Favre isn't Superman. He's a 40 year old man trying to accomplish something that no QB that age has ever lead his to team to do. IMO there is a huge difference for most men from the ages of 37-38 to being a 40 year old man. We aren't talking Golf and a 59 year old Tom Watson :) It's about getting hit by young 290lb men and getting up for 16 weeks and than having the strength and accuracy against the best teams in sometimes rotten weather conditions in the Playoffs.

If Favre can even pull off what he did his last year in Green Bay by making it to OT of a Championship Game it will be something of QB Legend IMO. Unfortunately it will likely be viewed as a disappointing season to most Viking fans and should be. Time will tell but IMO Minnesota has wasted one year of their great players' prime for an experiment with an old man and his huge ego and some amount of greed. It should be great theater!! Does anyone think the Vikings will do what the Jets didn't have the guts to do and make Favre a backup if his season is a duplicate to last years???

I think it should be clarified that SOME Vikings fans need to temper expectations. Other Vikings fans view Favre in purple as a sign of the apocalypse and are jumping off the Hennepin Avenue bridge.

Which, to me, is even more absurd than the people who think he's a one-way ticket to the Super Bowl.
