Terrelle Pryor’s ranked as a starter in a 12-teamer this week, and rightfully so based on a couple of bye weeks and in hopes that his brains are unscrambled by Sunday. Colin Kaepernick has gotta turn things around at some point, but a Thursday night road game seems unnecessarily risky for fantasy purposes.

Ranking running backs was as interesting this week as it’s been all season, as there are a lot of moving parts based on injuries, trades, etc. I’m assuming Reggie Bush and Ray Rice return, but in shared roles. And I’m probably crazy with Darren McFadden up at No. 6, but he’s been putting up numbers, he’s healthy, and has a great matchup. Hope he keeps it going for another week, and for the love of humanity, sell high!

It doesn’t seem right ranking three Denver receivers in the top 11, but are you going to doubt Peyton Manning against the Philadelphia defense? The answer is no. I continue to like DeAndre Hopkins, but not enough to rank him as a sure-fire starter, which continues to cost anyone who listens to me. But Andre Johnson has gotten hurt in each of the last two games, and this week they’ve got a tough opponent. Now watch Johnson play a whole game and Hopkins still put up numbers against the Seahawks. I suppose if that happens I’ll have to put Hopkins in my top 25 every week the rest of the way based on principle.

Tight Ends

  1. Jimmy Graham vs. Miami
  2. Jason Witten at San Diego

  21. Gavin Escobar at San Diego
  22. Clay Harbor vs. Indianapolis
  23. Garrett Graham vs. Seattle
  24. Dallas Clark at Buffalo
  25. Delanie Walker vs. NY Jets

It sounds like we’ll see Gronk back this week, but if you backed him up with Julius Thomas, Antonio Gates or Jordan Cameron you’ve got good reason to play wait and see on how Gronk does—though for the record, I’m assuming he’ll score at least one touchdown, if not two, regardless of who his first game comes against. Also, I didn’t forget to rank Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert, they just continue to eat into each other’s stats, and face a Cleveland defense that’s been tough on tight ends.

Kicker

  1. Matt Prater vs. Philadelphia
  2. Stephen Gostkowski at Atlanta
  3. Blair Walsh vs. Pittsburgh (London)
  4. Dan Bailey at San Diego

  21. Matt Bryant vs. New England
  22. Mike Nugent at Cleveland
  23. Nick Folk at Tennessee
  24. John Potter at Oakland
  25. Josh Brown at Kansas City

Several good options on the waiver wire this week, like Robbie Gould, Ryan Succop and Dan Carpenter.

Defense

  1. Chiefs vs. NY Giants
  2. Bucs vs. Arizona

Seems weird to have the Vikings so high after letting the Browns beat them at home last week, but Minnesota’s defense/special teams is generating fantasy points this season despite the W-L record.
