This is getting embarrassing.

Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio continued to rock the Zoneblitz Survivor Pool, selecting Miami to win over Buffalo last Thursday night. So he runs his record to 10-1 for the season in this double elimination event.

But Tony’s incorrect selection of Cleveland over Houston means the other three of us have not only been eliminated from the regular pool, but have flunked out of our consolation round as well.

So … take these picks with a grain of salt – and probably don’t pay attention to anyone but Maggio.

Maggio: Indianapolis over Jacksonville
Teams used: Miami, NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore

Getting to use one of the league’s best teams at home against one of the league’s worst teams is a rare luxury this late in a survivor pool season. So I’ll gladly jump at the opportunity.

Consolation round (single elimination)

Tony: Record before eliminated: 0-2 (4-1 in consolation round)
Teams used: Cleveland, New England, Denver, Seattle, Arizona

Eliminated again.

Who I would take if I was still alive: Green Bay over Minnesota – I got what I asked for in Cleveland last week, but am shocked to see this week that it doesn’t appear as though I have used the Packers yet. Then again, they haven’t played the Vikings yet (at least while I’ve been picking games). I can only hope that true to form, my picking them will be the curse that stops the 50 point productivity of the Pack…

John: Record before eliminated: 4-2 (1-1 in consolation round)
Teams used: Arizona, Dallas, Seattle, Pittsburgh, San Diego

Eliminated again.

Who I would take if I was still alive: Kansas City over Oakland: Picking a road team in a Thursday night game is extremely risky — unless they’re playing Oakland. The Chiefs have far exceeded my expectations so far this year, and they shouldn’t have any trouble rolling past the rival Raiders.

Andy: Record before eliminated: 2-2 (0-1 in consolation round)
Teams used: Seattle, Detroit, Denver, San Diego

Eliminated again.

Who I would take if I was still alive: Philadelphia over Tennessee: The Eagles got trounced in Green Bay last week, but this is actually a solid – albeit flawed – team. The Titans gave Pittsburgh a game on Monday night, but eventually fell. And I have to think the Titans are close to packing it in for the season. The Eagles need a win to stay tight with Dallas in the NFC East and they’ll take care of business in this game. Bonus prediction: LeSean McCoy fantasy owners, look for a big game from your struggling star.
