The first couple weeks there was a mix of selections. That cost two of our players, as returning champ Anthony Maggio and John Vomhof Jr. bowed out. Not sure any of us will have the guts to rely on New Orleans anytime soon.

The schedule has just a couple mismatches on it this week. It’s near unanimous in week three.

  This week’s pick Previously used
Andy Seattle Green Bay, Arizona
Tony Arizona Green Bay, Pittsburgh
Rich Seattle NY Jets, New England
Maggio Seattle New England, New Orleans (eliminated)
Vomhof Seattle Green Bay, New Orleans (eliminated)

Explanations:

Andy – Co-founder, editorial director

I’ve had pretty good luck so far betting against Chicago. The Seahawks are vulnerable. The offense looks out of synch and the Jimmy Graham acquisition to this point has been a waste. But Kam Chancellor is coming back, the Hawks are at home in one of the loudest stadiums in America and this team will play desperate.

Tony – Co-founder, web guru

This isn’t actually my favorite pick of the week, but I’d like to hold on to the Patriots for a little bit longer. I am tempted to go Seattle, but I can’t trust them yet, and John Fox continues to get the most out of another team with little talent—imagine if he were coaching someone with a lot of top draft picks on the roster, like the Rams. Indianapolis vs. Tennessee is another interesting pick, but would prefer to wait and see how they look against the Jets on Monday night before committing.

Rich – Contributing writer and publisher and editor of SouthernMinn SCENE magazine

The Chicago Bears have been known, in the past, to feature some of the best defenses the NFL has ever seen. 2015 is not one of those years.

Maggio – Fantasy editor (Eliminated)

Well, that sucked. After doing so well in 2014, my 2015 run to a survivor title died in Week 2. Nice work, me. Really I just needed to get through two weeks, because there’s really no way Seattle can possibly lose to Chicago in the Pacific Northwest, so I’d have been virtually guaranteed of at least making it to Week 4. Bummer.

John – Senior contributing writer (Eliminated)

I’m still reeling from last week’s Saints-Bucs debacle, so I’m reverting back to my play-it-safe strategy from Week 1. The Seahawks are off to a surprisingly dreadful 0-2 start, but the Chicago Bears should prove to be just the remedy Seattle needs to get things back on track. Da Bears have given up an NFL-worst 79 points in their first two games, and they won’t get any help on offense with Jimmy Clausen getting the start at QB this week.
