This is getting embarrassing.
Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio continued to rock the Zoneblitz Survivor Pool, selecting Miami to win over Buffalo last Thursday night. So he runs his record to 10-1 for the season in this double elimination event.
But Tony’s incorrect selection of Cleveland over Houston means the other three of us have not only been eliminated from the regular pool, but have flunked out of our consolation round as well.
So … take these picks with a grain of salt – and probably don’t pay attention to anyone but Maggio.
Maggio: Indianapolis over Jacksonville
Teams used: Miami, NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore

Well … that was humbling. Week 11 was a rough one – both for a lot of teams expected to be among the NFL’s best this season and
for those of us trying to predict the winners.
I finally won a week, but it was a pretty weak effort at 8-6. Tony, John and Dr. Phil all tied with six correct. Fantasy Editor Anthony Maggio owns the survivor pool, but his picks last week overall left a bit to be desired – he hit just three of 14 games.
Here are the standings:

There are some really interesting games on the slate this week, including a crossover conference game between Detroit and New England and divisional tilts with the Giants hosting Dallas and Arizona traveling to Seattle, where the Cardinals were the only team to deal the Seahawks a loss in 2013. Should be a fun week. Here are our picks: (more…)

Anthony’s run continued with the Baltimore win over Tennessee last weekend. He’s 9-1 in this double elimination pool. Can he keep it up?
Maggio: Miami over Buffalo
Teams used: NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore
It’s real tempting to avoid the sinister Thursday night game here and go with Cleveland over a Ryan Mallet-led Houston, but I don’t like betting on what I don’t know, and Arian Foster could make Mallet’s job easy. Meanwhile the Dolphins, even though they just lost, looked good on the road against one of the top contenders in the NFC. I think at home against lesser competition on a short week where the opposition has to travel adds up to a South Beach victory weekend. (more…)

I think I want to take Dr. Phil to Las Vegas for a football weekend. He’s on an incredible roll, tying once again for the top standings
spot in week 10 – with Andy – at 10-3.
All five pickers nailed nine or more, so it was a good week. Here are the standings:

Different week, same story. Tony and Dr. Phil again dominated the ZB staff pool, nailing 10 of 13 games. All of us held our own, with
the lowest score still hitting eight. But Dr. Phil has pulled out to a four game lead – if this keeps up we may have to dust off some Zoneblitz swag and send it his way.
Here are the standings:

Week 10 presents the last of the six-team bye weeks. They’re wreaking havoc on fantasy football players, but the pick segment just keeps plugging along. Here are our picks for the week: (more…)

Ok, the unbeatable is, in fact, beatable. Anthony Maggio, the sole survivor in our “survivor” pool, suffered his first loss in this contest Monday night when Washington stunned Dallas. But this is a double elimination party, so he gets another shot to see if he can run the table – and if he does, the riches and fame that will accompany the feat will assuredly make the accomplishment worthwhile.
So here goes:
Maggio: Seattle over Oakland
Teams used: NY Jets, Green Bay, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Denver, New England, Dallas (more…)
Antonio Brown will be awaiting election awhile himself. Sad and deranged
