John’s pretty well got this thing wrapped up. A 10-6 mark in week 16 leaves him five up on the nearest competition, Tony, who also hit 10.

Andy has wrapped up the bottom. He’s been clueless most of the season. And he was the first of our pickers to break 100 wrong.

NFL Picks 2016: Week 16

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone. Our gift to you is that we’re almost done with our attempts to pick games.

Actually, we didn’t do too badly last week. Results ranged from 13-3 (John Vomhof Jr.) to 10-6, with Vomhof pulling further ahead in the overall standings.

There are still some maddening teams that are hard to figure out — yes, I’m looking at you, Arizona, Carolina, Minnesota, Indianapolis and … well, most of the AFC West in any given week. And the NFC East. And … well, nevermind.

Here are the standings as we head into the home stretch:

And as we head into the final two weeks, the league has heavily slanted these frames with divisional match-ups. So there is some tremendously interesting football to be played yet. (more…)

NFL Picks 2016: Week15

Lose one here, lose one there … pretty soon it’s week 15 and you’re in danger of losing the house over a stupid pick ‘em pool.

Hypothetically.

Yes, we’re at week 15. Our picks last week were … better. We still trail most of the “experts” and NFLPickwatch.com this season. But we’re starting to catch on, at least a little bit.

NFL Picks 2016: Week 14

Kansas City beats Atlanta on an intercepted two-point return. The Lions, of all teams, prevent Drew Brees from throwing a TD pass at home. The seemingly hapless Cardinals figure it out against surging Washington.

The NFL is a weird, unpredictable business. And we kind of got swept up in it again last week.

Andy paced the picks for the second time in three weeks, hitting just 10 of 15. John Vomhof hit nine. The rest was a little on the ugly side.

Here are the standings heading into the final quarter of the season.

Andy finally did break the 100-win mark. He’s actually on a 31-14 run the last few weeks. Tony’s 25-5 two-week stretch snapped last week. Can we get back on track?

Tony is 25-5 in picks the last two weeks. Not a bad run. He led the pack in week 12 with a 14-2 mark. Maggio hit 13. The rest of us … meh.
