Ok, the unbeatable is, in fact, beatable. Anthony Maggio, the sole survivor in our “survivor” pool, suffered his first loss in this contest Monday night when Washington stunned Dallas. But this is a double elimination party, so he gets another shot to see if he can run the table – and if he does, the riches and fame that will accompany the feat will assuredly make the accomplishment worthwhile.

So here goes:

He’s unbeatable. Anthony Maggio’s fantasy football advice has undoubtedly won matchups for many all season long – and if you’ve been following his Survivor Pool approach, you’re also still in the money.

He ran his record to 7-0 in this double elimination competition from which all of his opponents have already been knocked out. So we’re spotlighting his picks and then the rest of us will weigh in with some thoughts for a consolation round pool as well. (more…)

Zoneblitz Survivor Pool: Week 7

And then there was one. Mike Nugent’s failed FG attempt as time ran out not only left Carolina and Cincinnati tied, but it knocked John Vomhof Jr. out of our double-elimination Survivor Pool. So that means, embarrassingly enough, that after just six weeks, Anthony Maggio was the last man standing.

He’ll continue on making picks to help you out with your selections. The other three of us losers are going to start a consolation round — we’ll start from scratch with the ability to pick any team we want.
