If you’re looking for assistance on your NFL Survivor Pool, we’ve got you covered … at least kind of.

Our four writers are playing a slightly modified version to help you make your weekly decisions. Well, three of us are. Even though we’re giving ourselves two strikes instead of one, Tony had a rough go of it the first two weeks. Despite leading our overall NFL Picks segment, two of the games he missed were Survivor Pool choices.

So the three remaining among us will attempt to help you make your weekly decisions, and hopefully we’ll all make it through Week 17 unscathed. Whoever’s left standing at the end will be declared the winner.

Two of us head into week three 2-0 … unfortunately not me. I was bit by Chicago’s improbable comeback win over San Francisco in the opener out west. So I’m 1-1. John and Maggio are 2-0, having respectively ridden Denver and Green Bay to victory.

Here are this week’s picks.

Maggio: Record: 2-0
Teams used: NY Jets, Green Bay

Atlanta over Tampa Bay: This is a bit risky after watching how awful the Falcons were Sunday and the fact that weird things happen on Thursdays, but they’re a different team on the road. I strongly considered New Orleans here because the Saints are basically the same with their home/road Jekyll and Hyde act, but with Tampa having lost back-to-back home games to start the season, I can’t buy into them turning it around on the road.

John: Record: 2-0
Teams used: NY Jets, Denver

New England over Oakland: After the Raiders’ Week 2 loss to the Texans Charles Woodson said, “We suck.” I couldn’t have said it better myself. The Raiders are the worst team in football. I mean, I’m sure they’ll win a game sometime but it won’t be this week against the Patriots on the road.

Andy: Record: 1-1
Teams used: Philadelphia, San Francisco

New England over Oakland: I’m down to my final strike in this double elimination tournament, so there’s no messing around. The Patriots struggled in week one but righted the ship in week two. The Raiders have been so bad even players are saying the team sucks. Every once in awhile a game like this goes opposite of the way it should, but it’s hard to see that happening in this one.

Tony: Record: 0-2 (Eliminated)
Teams used: Chicago, New Orleans
