Alternative Picks: Week 8, 2019

The streak continues. Andy got another narrow win. The margin is slowly widening overall.

Here are our picks for week eight:

1) Andy: Vikings over Washington – I hate picking my home team this high and I hate picking Thursday games this high, but … Washington sucks and the Vikings don’t.
2) Tony: Patriots over Browns – Was hoping Andy would pick that game first so I didn’t have to include it in my first two…but there are actually a lot of good, lopsided games this week.
3) Tony: Rams over Bengals – Another week, another Benglas likely blowout loss.
4) Andy: Saints over Cardinals – New Orleans might be due for a bit of a letdown, but they’ll still kick seven kinds of dog crap out of the Cardinals.
5) Tony: Seahawks over Falcons – Yes, Seattle is traveling East. But the Falcons are likely rolling out the corpse of Matt Schaub this week.
6) Andy: Steelers over Dolphins – This game fell this far? Are we really worried that somehow Mason Rudolph is going to lose to Miami? I’m not.
7) Tony: Colts over Broncos – Steelers were my next pick–would have been higher, but they are 2-4. But when’s the last time a 2-4 team was a 14.5 point favorite? As for the Colts…how are they not a 14 point favorite?
8) Andy: 49ers over Panthers – I’m fully believing in San Francisco. This 49ers team is for real.
9) Tony: Texans over Raiders – Houston gets back on track against the Raiders.  Otherwise, their season is probably done.
10) Andy: Lions over Giants – Detroit gets back on track against the Giants. Otherwise their season is probably done.
11) Tony: Bills over Eagles – Finally getting into some tougher calls…I don’t love the Bills as a pick–not 100% sold on them yet–but if they pull this one off, I’ll start believing a little more.
12) Andy: Bears over Chargers – Chicago gets back on track … the Chargers just can’t get out of their own way this year.
13) Tony: Jaguars over Jets – Thought I might be able to sneak Chicago in here–Chargers just lost another starting OL for the season. Jags look to improve via subtraction here, facing another bad opponent in the post-Ramsey era.
14) Andy: Bucs over Titans – Blech.
15) Tony: Packers over Chiefs – The loss of Mahomes gives the Packers a big edge. Wonder if the refs will continue to give them an even bigger one?
