Every Thursday on 1500ESPN’s Fantasy Football Pants Party, Anthony Maggio and Bo Mitchell field their Ballsy teams—a full fantasy lineup comprised only of players available in at least half of ESPN leagues. Each week Zoneblitz.com will publish a preview, with Maggio’s top-rated at each position among the Ballsy-eligible players.

Carson Palmer vs. Washington*

The asterisk here is to denote the chance that Palmer remains in street clothes on Sunday due to the nerve issue in his shoulder. Should that not clear up, Jake Locker is my backup option here. And should Locker not go due to his thumb injury, than Joe Flacco’s your guy. But for Palmer, he gets a Washington defense allowing the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks through five weeks. Enough said.

Andre Williams at Philadelphia

This honestly feels like cheating to me, but as of noon on Wednesday Williams was still owned in just 49.5% of ESPN fantasy leagues. But hey, rules are rules, so Williams is mine. New York has moved the ball better and better as the season’s gone on, and Williams gets a full workload for the foreseeable future as Rashad Jennings recovers from an MCL injury. Ride Williams for as long as Jennings is out, my friends.

Brian Quick vs. San Francisco

I told you last week, didn’t I? Sadly, Quick’s not repeating his two-touchdown performance this week against San Francisco, but that doesn’t mean he’s not valuable. I’m not sure how folks are so slow to catch on to Quick (see what I did there?) but please, PLEASE go add him now. The rest of this post will be here when you get back.

Heath Miller at Cleveland

A Pittsburgh tight end did score last week after I touted Miller in this space, but unfortunately it was Michael Palmer. Miller himself finished with a ho-hum 46 yards, but I’m sticking with him for another week. The Browns have been good against tight ends this season sans Jimmy Graham, but Miller ranks sixth among tight ends in targets this season and has 15 total the last two weeks. I’ll keep betting on the opportunities—the results will come.

Billy Cundiff vs. Pittsburgh

Cundiff has exactly two field goal attempts in each game this season and no fewer than two extra points made. His ceiling isn’t the most exciting thing in the world, but Pittsburgh’s allowing the second most fantasy points per game to kickers, so he’s got a very respectable floor.

Bills vs. New England

Don’t love the matchup after watching what New England just did to Cincinnati, but I feel like that performance was more fiction than fact for both sides last Sunday night. Meanwhile, the Bills went into Detroit and allowed just 14 points, though admittedly that came pretty much without Calvin Johnson at the Lions’ disposal and Alex Henery’s 0-for-3 on field goal attempts. Buffalo is at home for this one and one of fantasy’s best defenses, which makes me wonder why it’s not more highly owned.
