Well … this tightened up in a hurry. Tony has dominated the second half of the season and has this pick segment close.

Week 13 Tony 9-7
Season Andy 97-94-1

Andy attempts to get things headed back his way this week.

1) Andy: Packers over Washington – There are teams that will take the Washington Football Team lightly, but not Green Bay. Packers win in a rout.

2) Tony: Browns over Bengals – Ouch, this week spirals out of control quickly. The biggest point spread left on the board is a game I’m not touching (even with David Blough likely still starting), so I’ll grab the Browns to put the Bengals back on their path to the Burrow, and…

3) Tony: Texans over Broncos – It was cute with Drew Lock getting that win over the Chargers…don’t expect it to happen in Houston, though.

4) Andy: Vikings over Lions – Ok, I’ll touch it. Minnesota doesn’t seem to have enough juice to beat the best teams right now, but the Vikings have done a fairly decent job of taking care of the lesser ones. Solid Blough-job on Thanksgiving, but reality sets in now that there is film.

5) Tony: Ravens over Bills – The Bills aren’t a bad team, but the Ravens are just on fire right now–good enough that I’m not sure being 6 point favorites on the road against a team with one fewer loss than them is actually enough.

6) Andy: Eagles over Giants – The Baltimore game would have been my next pick too. But since Tony actually had the stones to touch that one … I’ll go here. Not that I have any conviction on this one, but it’s the highest money line left on the board. The Eagles are definitely more talented. Can they pull their heads out of their respective asses? We’ll see – there still is a division to win if they want to.

7) Tony: Seahawks over Rams – The Rams just played their best game in over a month, but they’re running into a team that’s almost as hot as the Ravens. Even at home, have to give the edge to Seattle.

8) Andy: Steelers over Cardinals – I’m in a few confidence pools and I do my picks for one of them based on these picks. I like Tony’s picks more this week than in any other this season. The Seattle one is a winner. So is this one. Kyler Murray aside, Arizona is going nowhere this season. The Steelers appear to have found some late season energy. Go Duck Hodges.

9) Tony: Jaguars over Chargers – Two things swing this one to the Jags this early for me–the Chargers traveling east, and Gardner Minshew. Well, that and the Chargers being terrible.

10) Andy: Jets over Dolphins – The Jets were horrible last week and, while they aren’t good, they’ve not thrown together two consecutive complete duds in a few weeks. The Dolphins were pretty good against the Eagles and … they haven’t put together two consecutive good games in a while. I think.

11) Tony: Patriots over Chiefs – The Chiefs are certainly capable of beating the Patriots, but Tom Brady doesn’t lose twice in a row very often.

12) Andy: Titans over Raiders – It was a cute little run for Jon Gruden’s crew, but the losing streak has started.

13) Tony: Falcons over Panthers – Three weeks ago, Carolina got beat by the Falcons at home–bad. This time around, they don’t have their head coach–who by all appearances, was well liked by Panthers players. Something tells me they’re not going to be all that motivated to go out and right the ship now.

14) Andy: Saints over 49ers – One of two things will happen here. Drew Brees and his veteran acumen will do jut enough to beat San Francisco. Or, the 49ers’ young pass rushers will get to Brees and snap him into pieces. I could see either, but would bet on the former.

15) Tony: Bears over Cowboys – Don’t look now, but the Bears have won 3 of 4, and are back to .500 for the season. They’re still not putting up points, but they’ve only given up more than 20 points three times this season. The Cowboys meanwhile are the definition of hot & cold–and lately have been a lot more cold than hot.

16) Andy: Bucs over Colts – The Colts have lost four of five after a reasonably hot start. The Bucs are 5-7, winners of three of four. Huh. Who knew.

Tony’s really starting to widen his lead in the straight-up picks.
