Tony got his second win of the season last week, though both of these clowns forgot to take Aaron Jones out of their lineups. That oversight cost Andy not only here but in a couple other DFS contests where he probably cost himself a couple bucks. Lesson learned – doublecheck these lineups too.

Anyway, can Tony keep the rally going?

Here are the standings:

Week 7 Season Total points Point average
Andy 112.8 5-2 1030.06 147.2
Tony 131.7 2-5 889.0 127

And here are the week eight lineups:

Tony – I had a totally different lineup here, with Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, and Richard Rodgers and Mike Williams in it–but weather and injury activations made me change it, so guaranteed those five guys go off today now.

QB – Patrick Mahomes vs NYJ – $8,200 – My only concern is that Mahomes doesn’t need to pass in the first half. But he might put up five TD in that first half.

RB – Derrick Henry @ Cin – $8,300 – Good game for them to just hand him the ball and let him grind out a couple hundred yards.

RB – Toddy Gurley @ Car – $6,900 – I guess I already had a player go on Thursday…whoops.

WR – Tyler Lockett vs SF – $8,000 – I’ve never been a big Lockett guy…but playing across from DK Metcalf opens up a lot for him.

WR – AJ Brown @ Cin – $7,400 – I really didn’t want to stack a RB/WR combo, but Brown fits salary wise. Hopefully he takes the top off a couple times to open up more lanes for Henry.

WR/TE – Travis Fulgham vs Dal – $5,800 – I realized I was getting too Bengal heavy, so subbed Fulgham in for Tee Higgins. Add Higgins to the list to go off today.

TE – Drew Sample vs Ten – $3,400 – Yes, I took Sample over Higgins. No, I have no real idea why. Other than he’s cheap.

Flex – Rashard Higgins vs LV – $4,500 – I think the Browns may have gotten better with OBJ out, to be honest. Less pressure to force the ball anywhere.

DST – Chiefs vs NYJ – $2,200 – Super cheap, and against the Jets.

Andy –

QB – Aaron Rodgers vs MN – $7,800 – The Vikings’ defensive backfield brought in a guy who has played all of 40-something defensive snaps in the NFL who might start this weekend. Good luck with that. Aaron Rodgers doesn’t need good WR to exploit that.

RB – Aaron Jones vs MN – $7,800 – I lost and posted one of my worst scores of the season last week due, in part, to not getting him out of my lineup. I’m hoping that week off means he’s ready this week because he, like Rodgers, has a prime match-up.

RB – Jamaal Williams vs MN – $6,400 – Williams has been pretty solid in rotating with Jones the last few weeks and he was very good last week when he had most of the work to himself. Against a beat-up Minnesota defense, he feels like a great play with Jones missing another game.

RB – Ronald Jones @ NYG – $6,100 – Jones has been running well this season and now he’s being pushed by Leonard Fournette, who actually out-snapped him last week. There’s probably enough to go around against New York this weekend.

WR – Davante Adams vs MN – $9,000 – Noticing a theme? Someone has to catch all of Rodgers’ passes this weekend. Adams won’t be alone, but he’ll probably be the main beneficiary.

WR – Rashard Higgins vs LVR – $4,500 – Odell Beckham goes down with a knee injury, giving Higgins a chance to get back into the lineup. He immediately puts up 6-110. He gets the Raiders this weekend. Not the worst draw you could ask for.

WR – Brandon Aiyuk at SEA – $5,700 – I liked Higgins as a low-risk play, but the $1,400 savings from replacing Aaron Jones with Jamaal Williams allowed for finding a slightly higher-percentage play. The 49ers will be down Deebo Samuel this week, meaning Aiyuk gets to go back to the de facto No. 1 WR role there in a week when they’re taking on one of the league’s worst pass defenses. I’ll roll the dice on that.

WR – D.J. Moore vs ATL – $6,500 – After a slightly slower-than-expected start for Moore, he’s had 21 targets and 13 catches the last three weeks. Each of those games he’s put up 93 yards and he’s scored a total of three TDs in that span. This week he gets Atlanta. Everyone is feasting on the Falcons right now.

TE – Travis Kelce vs NYJ – $7,000 – Kelce only had three targets, three catches and 31 yards last week in a game that the Chiefs won relying more on rushing, defense and special teams than on the arm of Patrick Mahomes. My guess is they’ll work Kelce into the mix this week just to keep him happy.

Flex – Marquez Valdes-Scantling vs MN – $4,100 – The numbers have been down so far for the most part, but I’ve got a dollar that says he shows up this week. Needed a cheap one here and I’m betting heavily against the Vikings this week. If this one ends up being 16-10, I’m in trouble.

DST – Kansas City vs NYJ – $2,200 – The Chiefs defense actually pretty much wrapped up the Denver game last week by halftime. Maybe they’re starting to come around a bit like they did last year about mid-season. Either way, the Jets aren’t that much of a challenge.
